When one is looking forward to practicing music, they will find that there are a number of guides which demand you to practice. If you have never tried learning something like this before, it can be very surprising. One cannot simply roll up a weeks worth of practice in a two to three hour session once a week! Preferably though, one needs to find time to practice every day to help improve tactile and memory skills. Many feel that practice is not needed when one can sight read well. Even though it is true that having good sight reading skills can help you get to where you want to go a little faster when it comes to learning a piece, when you sight read, there is a good chance that you are still going to make a mistake. Therefore, in class, you will surely make more mistakes than desired or hoped for. While sight reading is a good way to get to know a piece, getting good at it is something that will only come as you practice. I myself, have a good sight-reading skill. I feel as though my sigh-reading skills are really well because I can read my music through fast. But because I can do this, I make many mistakes, mostly due to intonation and other big mistakes that can be fixed with more practice. Since I think my sight-reading is good, sometimes I feel as though I do not need to practice, but my research in practice has really changed my opinion about it. Now, I feel as though practicing everyday will not only improve my skills in music, but in my whole life. I know that I really need to get more practice. My brother who is very interested in music is younger than me. He practices all the time, every day. I guess that is why he is so liked by the orchestra community. I do appreciate his hard work and dedication, but lately I have realized that I have not had enough time to practice. Although sometimes my brother offers a battle, many times, I just dont have time to practice. Now, I have learned that practice is an important skill that can help me through my whole life. Instead of watching television, something that I dont do often, or maybe starting my homework early are things that I am willing to change so that I can practice more efficiently.
